Art . . . for art's sake.

I've always had an interest in visual art and enjoyed visiting some great galleries through the years. Painting was a love of mine when I was a kid but I hadn't done any for a long time before I recently got the urge to take up the brush and see what I could do. My main interest right now is Japanese Sumi-e and Chinese ink and wash. Maybe one day I'll master the sumi brush skills but for now I'm quite content to study the work of the masters and enjoy the ride. Another favourite subject is Scotland's mountain landscape. It's a peaceful pastime that takes me away from some of the worries of the day.
